Revlon CustomEyes Palette Review.

When I popped into my local Superdrug a couple of weeks ago, I saw this little number in the Revlon stand and knew I had to get it. I am a huge Revlon fan and have been loving all the new products they have been bringing out recently. They did have a variety of different colours but  'Naturally Glamourous' was the one to catch my eye.

Now I have enough neutral eyeshadows to sink a ship, but I just can't resist a cute palette like this. I do feel that this palette has one shade that is different from all the others I own. It is the first shade on the left. It's such a beautiful dark khaki shade, which I think is really unusual and would look lovely used as an eyeliner instead of the standard black/brown.

Usually when I purchase a product I do research first, however this was a bit of an impulse buy. So I looked on the Revlon site recently and found out they call it the Custom Eyeshadow and Liner palette. I'm assuming that the colour I said I would use as an eyeliner is the one they recommend to use for the job.

One of the first things that I love about these palettes is the embossed arran knit patten on the shadows. (in the winter I was in love with thick knitted jumpers).The palette is really pigmented, however it can be a little bit chalky so I would recommend you use a light hand when putting the product on you brush unless you want a lot of fall out. The product is really lovely and easy to use especially if you are fairly new to makeup as they show instructions on how to apply it on the back. It would be great for travelling with, as you could apply a small amount of the lighter shades for a natural day look, or pack on all the colours for a lovely evening look.

This retails at around £7.99, which I think is a fair price for 5 pigmented eyeshadows.

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover.

So unless you have been living under a rock for the last month, you would of heard of the new Magic Nail Polish Remover from Bourjois. It has been so popular that it has sold out across most Boots and Superdrugs. I managed to get my hands on this lovely pink pot of joy about a day after it came out.


If you have watched any of my videos you will be fully aware that I am a nail polish addict, so a product like this is right up my alley. Now I tend to change my nail polish everyday or every two days. I am aware this is bad for my nails, but I just can't help myself! I must admit my least favourite part of doing my nails is taking the polish off. First of all most nail polish removers stink so badly you end up high after using them. Secondly you have to faff around with cotton pads/balls and 9 times out of 10 they fall to bits when you are using them.


Since using the Bourjois remover, I don't dread taking off my nail polish. It does not smell like other removers because it is scented. They say it is meant to smell liked red berry and vanilla. Not only does it smell good but it has almond oil in it, which is supposed to help keep you nails in good condition. It is also acetone free which is more gentle on your nails and cuticles. Plus you don't have to use cotton page thanks to the sponge inside. The only critic I can think of for this product is that Bourjois guarantee that the product removes polish in one second. I would not necessarily agree with that, I would say it is more like 5 seconds. But I am not going to kick up a fuss over a 4 second difference!


The first time I used this I had a thin coat of glitter on my nails. Big mistake! Now every time I go to use it I end up with glitter all over my fingers. Putting my stupidity to one side, I do really like this product! It is far more gentle on my nails then the previous removers I had been using, it smells better and it makes the process a whole lot quicker. I definitely will be repurchasing this again!

THE Zara Bag!

It is big enough to fit all my crap in!

If you follow any fashion blogs like I do, you may have noticed this bag in more then one post. It has slowly gained it's own cult following from most of the blogger community. From the moment I saw this bag I knew I had to get it.

It is called the Messenger Bag with edging and comes in Grey, Red and Black. What I love most about this bag is the rose gold detail, it is kind of my latest obsession with jewellery so to find a bag to match it all was great! It is only £19.99 which I think is a bit of a steal from Zara, plus I think the bag looks like it cost more then it does. From the picture on the website I thought it was going to be a lot smaller and more structured than it actually is, however I do prefer slouchy large bags so it worked out perfectly! The only down side to the bag is that the strap is really thin and rather short,  but I can make it work ;)

Caudalie Beauty Elixir.

So I think this is probably the most talked about skin product of April. I suppose you can say I bought into the hype (as usual). However I do think this product deserves a lot of the popularity it has gained lately!

April Glossy Box.

Okay, so I have been getting Glossy Boxes since October and I do find that each month can be bit of hit and miss. Don't get me wrong I love getting a monthly box full of surprises, but when you pay around £12 a month you would like to have at least 2 products you would actually use in each box. This month I must admit I liked almost everything and was so pleased, because I was getting to the point were I was thinking of cancelling my subscription. So enough of me moaning and lets have a look at what I got in my box.

 This months theme was organic and natural beauty products. 

The box is 100% biodegradable and a light brown, which makes a nice change from their usual pastel pink.

This is the first product I saw when I opened the box and probably the one I am most excited about. It is the Caudalie Vinosource Thirst-Quenching Serum. This product is the deluxe size sample and as you can see from the picture you get 10ml of product. The full size is 30ml and cost £29.00, so you are getting just under £10 worth of product from this alone. The reason I am so excited to use this product is because there is a huge hype around the Caudalie Beauty Elixir and the brand it self. On the card from the box it says his serum is newly-launched so it makes it feel even more special as it is such a new product. I can't wait to try this out.

This is probably my second favourite product I received. It is the Figs & Rouge Lip Balm. The full size is £3.29. It is 100% organic, 100% pure and 100% Natural.  Not only is it all of these things but it smells so amazing and the packaging is beautiful (and we all know I'm a sucker for packaging). I received the peppermint and tea tree scented one and I must admit I think I will be keeping this in my handbag for a while. It says on the packaging that it is a multipurpose balm however I think I will be using it just for my lips as it is a little oily for me.

This is the Monu Professional Skincare Enriched Body Cream, it is £23.00 for the full size which is 200ml. I tried this on the back of my hand it is felt really nice and none greasy, however it smells like lemons which I personally don't like. So my Sister will be getting a free moisturiser from me!

This item is probably the one I was least excited about. It is the Inika Cosmetics eyeliner, full size £11.75. I'm sure it would be a great product as it goes on smoothly, it's really pigmented and has lovely packaging. The major downside is I do not wear green eyeliner! I would have been so happy with this product in black, I could have even liked it in brown. But green, just doesn't work for me. I'm sure it looks lovely on some people, but just not me.

The last item in my box is the Philip B Drop Dead Straighting Balm. I think I have heard of Philip B before and may have used some of their products and really liked them. The full size is £17.00 for 178ml (bit of an odd amount). This balm is a non-greasy, silicone-free water-soluble styling product. I still have to try this out, but it looks interesting. I read the directions on the back and you use a very small amount each times so I think I will get a lot of uses out of this.

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation Review.

Okay so everyone and their Mum has been raving about the new Rimmel London Wake Me Up foundation. After seeing the advert with Kate Moss about a thousand times, I was sold so I thought I would jump on the band wagon, even though I do sit firmly in the Revlon foundation camp.  

              Rather in love with the gorgeous glass bottle. I'm a total sucker for packaging.

 The colour range isn't that large and I found the true ivory a little bit orange, but with a bit of blending down my neck it looks fine. 

A great feature about the packaging is that it comes with a pump. Which I love as I tend to use too much foundation if it doesn't have one.

Now I tend to personally prefer a matte finish with my foundation, but after a rather "interesting" problem with an acne regime, which left my skin ridiculously dry (the complete opposite to the usual oil sleek I tend to have on my face).  I have been going for a dewy finish, to prevent a rather flaky face!

I found this foundation was perfect for a dewy finish which is bang on trend for spring. It has fine pieces of glitter in the formula, which seem to help with the anti-fatigue effect + radiant glow it promises on the packaging. Don't worry you won't end up looking like Edward Cullen though, which I sometimes find with the glitter in the Revlon HD Ready foundation. It feels really moisturising when it goes on, but doesn't slide about. It gives a medium coverage, so you don't feel too caked in foundation. This has SPF 15 in it, which is great for Spring/Summer as we don't want to have to keep putting oily sunscreen on our faces do we?

On the Rimmel website it says the foundation lasts up to 10 hours. I personally wouldn't know if it lasts this long, as I don't wear foundation for that amount of time. However it does last me the 8 hour days at work.

This foundation has a really lovely scent. It seems really fresh and clean. Most of the Rimmel foundations have this scent. I only know because my first ever foundation was a Rimmel one and so every time I smell this foundation I feel 13 again.

I purchased mine from Boots at £8.99, but because it is new there, maybe there are some special offers at Superdrug. Overall I am really impressed with this foundation. I definitely think I have been converted. Sorry Revlon.
