Favourite Lipsticks of the Month.

Nicely Nude: E.L.F

Nougat:Vivo by Tesco
Now it is very rare I wear lip products unless you count lip balm, but when I do these two lipsticks have been on the ones I have reached for. I've had the E.L.F one for ages and never really used it until it became a bit warmer as I think it looks better when I have a bit of a tan. The second one I think looks great all year round and I actually wore it a lot during winter. These are definitely my favourite nude lipsticks at the moment. I think they would all skin tones and would recommend them.

This is just a simple post to show you what I carry around with me. Most weeks the contents of my makeup bag changes considering what I am doing. Obviously I didn't include the brushes I put in there because I have just done a post on my favourite brushes to use for most of these products.

Shabby Chic Home Ware.

Okay so recently I have been thinking about doing a video on home ware. I am a huge fan of most things shabby chic and thought I would share it with you guys. I know not everyone likes home ware as much as me, but if you are looking for inspiration to spice up you room, then I thought my video would help.

What do you think?

Reusing Candle Jars.

For a while I have been storing my brushes in a makeup bag, but I found the bristle were getting all messed up and misshaped. So when I finally finished off some of the candles I have had since winter, I decided to make my own brush holders. It is not like you have to be an artist to create one, in fact a child could do it, but I thought I would show you my ones anyway.

All you have to do is scrape out the wax (obviously) give it a good clean and decorate if you wish. With the first one I took the label off and tied a glossy box ribbon around the top.  Plain and simple!

I actually bought this candle mostly for the pot it came in. With this one I just filled it with little balls of wax I had left over from a candle making kit. It means all the brushes will stand separately so I can find the one I want really easily. Plus I think it makes it look nicer.

You can also use candle jars for storing other items on your dressing table. This old yankee candle jar is great for my cotton pads. Even though I have washed this jar out thoroughly it still smells of grapes and makes all my cotton pads smell the same which is a nice touch.

Do you guys use your old candle jars for anything?

Make up Academy Heaven and Earth Palette.

So if you watch my videos you will know I picked up this palette last month. Surprise Surprise it is another neutral one! I have heard some good things about this palette and thought I would give it a go, as the only thing I own from MUA is there clear mascara that I use on my brows.

Now the packaging is nothing special, but it is nice that you can see all the shades inside, so if you have a big collection it is easier to find a colour you need. It is a nice little palette if you don't want to spend too much money. I think it is only £4.99 and MUA have bought out more palettes with pastel colours in as well.  I personally don't LOVE it, but I do like it. I will probably use it on days I don't want to waste any of my Naked palettes.

What is your favourite MUA product?

Giving My Hands Some TLC.

Todays post will be short and sweet, as I have been working late these last few days. So most of you don't know but I do tend to neglect my hands, as I am an extremely lazy person. So after finding these to products my hands finally are getting a bit of love.

As a Soap and Glory fan I knew I would have to purchase the Hand Maid cleansing gel. I absolutely love the smell of Soap and Glory and this is one of their products that never fails to cheer me up. I do have to use the bus everyday going to and from work so this is a bit of an necessity unless I want to catch every germ going.

Obviously because the hand gel has alcohol in it, it dries out the skin. So I have been using the Hand Food moisturiser in conjunction with the hand gel. Now you can purchase the full size tube of this product, but I really didn't fancy putting any more weight in my handbag, as it already weighs about 20 stone already!

I have really enjoyed using these product over the last few weeks and feel like my hands are getting a bit of pampering for once!

What are your favourite Soap and Glory Products?

Real Techniques Brush Review.

Now I know I am probably the last person on the Earth to review these brushes but I have really enjoyed using them so I wanted to share my views with you all. These brushes were created by Samantha Chapman from the Pixiwoo sisters, who makeup artists and have a youtube channel/blog (I absolutely love them both).

I went into my local boots and picked up all the brushes they stocked there. Here are just the brushes I have enjoyed using the most out of the ones I have purchased.

Top: Deluxe Crease brush. Bottom: Base Shadow brush.
I purchased the Starter kit and these two are my favourite. I love the deluxe brush because the bristle are fairly stiff which means you can get right in the crease, but still blend eyeshadows out really easily.

Now I actually use the base shadow brush for my concealer. It is perfect for blending my under eye concealer as isn't too harsh on the thin skin around my eyes.

Buffing Brush
I have heard so many great things about this brush and all were right.  It is perfect for foundation, as it doesn't leave brush strokes like most brushes I have used. It leaves such as flawless finish on the skin. I also think it is great for applying cream blush!

Powder Brush
This brush is fantastic for powder, it is so soft but not the point were you can't use it to pack on powder if you need it. It is such a large brush so if you are in a rush you can apply powder to large sections of you face quickly.

Contour Brush
I have heard a lot of people saying this brush is to small, however I think this is the perfect size and probably my favourite brush to use for my bronzer. It makes me wonder how I survived without it before!

Overall I am really impressed with these brush and I am so glad I purchased them!
